Full planning application for land off Evesham Road, in the north western fringe of the modern settlement of Bishop’s Cleeve. Development consists of 71 dwellings, with 53 open market and 15 affordable homes in a mix of 1 bedroom apartment, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.
House types were designed in the recognizable Redrow 1930’s Arts & Craft inspired architectural style, with main facades in a mix of brick and render to create a distinctive development with its own identity and sense of place whilst demonstrating an empathy with the surrounding townscape.
Scheme also provided for areas of public open space, incorporating wildlife corridors, children’s local area of play and sustainable drainage system in the form of storm water attenuation ponds. Design proposals also needed to accommodate existing watercourses, grounding of OH electricity cables, provision of a new foul pumping station, electricity sub-station and pedestrian links to adjoining development.
