Appointed to submit the full planning application for 10 no. dwellings on land just north of Ross-on –Wye, situated close to the historic centre of the small village of Brampton Abbotts and within the statutory designated Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This site proved to be quite contentious due to its rural village location and despite efforts to come to an acceptable form of development with the local planning authority, planning approval was eventually won on appeal.
The layout is informal in nature with 1 and 2 storey detached dwellings set back from the site frontage behind existing and new hedging, along a varied building line and accessed via private drives to reflect the open rural village character of the area. House types are designed in a traditional architectural style in keeping with the local vernacular and comprise a material palette of brick, render and flat profile roof tiles reflective of those found in the vicinity.
