Following outline planning consent for 4 no. self/custom build houses, CDS were commissioned to provide the detailed site & house type drawings for the Reserved Matters planning application.

The site is located centrally within the settlement of Rangeworthy, with the surrounding area rural in character. It was formerly used as a paddock & is enclosed on all sides by established hedgerows with mature trees along the southern boundary. A pond is situated in the south western corner & existing features have been retained within the proposals where possible.

Proposals have been designed to respond positively to the character of the local area & ensure a high quality sustainable scheme is achieved. The 4 no. 4 bedroom, dwellings front out onto Wotton Road & provide a linear form of development, set back from the highway within generous sized plots to reflect the existing settlement pattern.

The bespoke house types are a maximum of 2 storey & feature integral garages designed in a contemporary architectural style. As self/ custom build they are designed to provide 3no design options for the internal arrangements & a degree of external customisation with a selection of material finishes, utilising natural stone & cladding under a grey roof. The design options provide perspective homeowners with suggested internal arrangements but allow scope for greater flexibility & a wider range of layout configurations, options for various window sizes & locations are also available. External customisation is more limited to ensure an acceptable material palette.

Homes will provide excellent energy efficiency with a range of measures including air source heat pumps for heating, cooling & hot water, as well as options for the amount of PV solar panels to be installed.
