Final phase for Taylor Wimpey on the major mixed use development at Emersons Green East. Situated on the eastern edge of EGE, adjoining open space & designed to provide a more relaxed, rural style of development, with lower density, informal streets & traditional style dwellings to reflect its green edge location.

A difficult site which was subject to extensive negotiations with the local planning authority to achieve approval due to various site constraints, including:

  • Late inclusion of electricity sub-station;

  • Existing PROW along eastern boundary;

  • Situated on remediated land with raised ground levels;

  • Close proximity to existing water & gas mains;

  • Fixed access links, limiting design opportunities.

 

Proposals provide 67no. new dwellings, with a mix of open market & affordable units, ranging from 1 bed apartments, 2 & 3 bed terraced & semi detached to larger 3 & 4 bed detached.

Development is all 2 storey in height to reflect its rural edge location, with simple house designs in a traditional rural architectural style & limited palette of materials consisting of recon. stone, pale render colours, with occasional red brick and slate grey or red roof tiles.
