SHERFORD PHASE 1B
Address: Sherford
Gross Site Area: 3.1 Hectares
Net. Density: 37.4 Units/hectare (116 dwellings)
Client: Bovis Homes
Development of 116 plots, comprising 92 open market and 24 affordable dwellings on Phase 1B, situated in the south western area of Sherford new town. This phase acts as a transitional area within the overall Sherford development as it moves away from the grander regency style of development in the earlier phases. It was designed following the revised and newly approved Sherford Town Design Code which saw the introduction of new house designs with buildings demonstrating a more traditional Devon vernacular style.
A mix of 1 to 4 bedroom apartments, terraced, semi detached and occasional detached house have been designed. These are predominantly 2 and 3 storey, with the 4 storey apartment blocks designed to act as key feature buildings at the corners with the main avenue link. This phase also sees an increased use of gable fronted and hipped roofs to dwellings in a wider mix of red brick and off white render under slate grey roof tiles.
